New Nissan Navara Pro PHEV unveiled with 300 kW

Serving up a combined system output of 300 kW and 800 N.m of torque, Nissan has unveiled the all-new Navara Pro PHEV double-cab.

Forming part of Nissan’s ‘From China’ export strategy, the Japanese automaker has unveiled the all-new Navara Pro PHEV. Nissan’s new-energy bakkie will be produced in China and exported to “select” global markets.

The Nissan Navara Pro PHEV, which is also known as the Frontier Pro in China, is equipped with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a single electric motor. The PHEV setup produces a combined system output of 300 kW and 800 N.m of torque. Power is delivered to the road via an all-wheel drivetrain, replete with an electromechanical rear diff-lock. Dedicated drive modes include Hybrid, Pure electric, Performance, and Snow. Nissan claims the Navara Pro PHEV offers an electric-only operating range of 135 km.

Measuring 5 520 mm in length and 1 960 mm in width, the Navara Pro PHEV is 260 mm longer and 40 mm wider than the current Navara double-cab. The wheelbase is longer, too –  3 300 vs 3 150 mm. The Navara Pro PHEV features independent double-wishbone suspension up front and a five-link setup at the rear.

Inside, a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen takes pride of place on the facia, while 10-inch LCD instrumentation is sited fore the driver. Comfort features include heated/ventilated front seats with messaging functionality, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Navara Pro PHEV will initially launch in China and the Philippines, before being introduced to additional markets, including Australia, in 2027. Nissan has yet to confirm whether this model will make its way to our shores.
