Dirty Ferrari Purosangue images emerge after off-road testing
Get your head out of the gutter, these aren’t those kinds of dirty Ferrari Purosangue images but the soon to be SUV from the prancing horse has recently taken to off-roading in a process that is probably novel to test drivers from Maranello.
While the thought of a Ferrari SUV (if it existed when he was alive) would have Enzo now turning in his grave, it is the sure way to boost sales of high performance brands and enable them to continue producing ludicrous sports cars that only a select few get the privilege of owning. Look at Lamborghini and its record sale of 8 405 cars throughout 2021, 60% of which is compliments of the Urus SUV.
Like it or not, the Purosangue which ironically means Pure-blood in Italian, is expected to be launched this year and a latest spy video from Varryx on YouTube has displayed a test mule in a filthy Maserati Levante skin. This probably means that Ferrari were confident enough this time around to put their new pony through its paces on some Italian pastures, we are just not sure why it was dressed up in attire from its Trident-adorned sibling.
Spy shots, dirty Ferrari Purosangue images and test mule snippets are all we have to go with for now but some unofficial digital concepts have circulated around the web with the most attentive project by 2NCS debuting a few days ago.
While aesthetics of the new direction of the upcoming nameplate remain secretive, so is what lies beneath the surface. While the sonorous Ferrari V12 would always provide a pleasant powertrain, a much quieter prototype has been spotted in the world with testing which could suggest that the plug-in hybrid twin-turbo V6 from the 296 GTB could be employed in the SUV. While it may lack in the sound department, it still comes with a 610 kW and 740 N.m kick which could kick the dust up on any dirt path it encountered.
We are a mere few months away from the official debut of the Purosangue and can expect more and more spy shots of the novel model from Maranello.
