No this is not a Hellucination, this is a real 745 kW Dodge Charger

This SpeedKore built creation titled the ‘Hellucination’ employs the sizable 7,0-litre V8 Hellephant engine. This means that this 1968 Dodge Charger restomod is capable of a whopping 745 kW while looking more ominous than anything else you will likely find on the road. Hellucination

This hasn’t been a matter of dropping an obscenely powerful motor into the engine bay and calling it a day. SpeedKore has given this 1968 Dodge Charger a full makeover in their “most extreme build yet” according to boss Jim Kacmarcik. This means that the dark exterior colour of the Hellucination is actually just carbon fibre with a clear coat over the top – an ominous murdered out look nonetheless. Hellucination

The statement piece of the build is undoubtedly the apocalypse-inducing 7,0-litre Dodge V8 Hellephant motor which can churn out 745 kW and 1,288 N.m – not very efficient with the current price of petrol but if you can afford to pay for this bespoke creation, that probably isn’t a concern. To put things into context, the most powerful Dodge Charger in 1968, the legendary Hemi, only put out 316 kW and 664 N.m from its 7,0-litre Hemi V8. It might sound miniscule in comparison to the new Hellucination but keep in mind these were riveting specs for 1968. Hellucination

Speaking of which, dropping a 745 kW motor into a 50+ year old car requires considerably more work than would be expected. SpeedKore has built the model almost entirely in carbon-fibre while a reinforced custom frame and rollcage are unique to the Hellucination. The suspension has also been revised to aid the lightened body when a turn is thrown its way. This includes Penske adjustable coilovers which enable it to sit so low to the ground while a new steering column allows for this added agility. To stop this mass of rolling thunder are a pair of Brembo six-piston callipers up front while the rear gets a set of four-pots. These are concealed with modernised but retro looking 19 and 20-inch rims which are wrapped in Pilot Sport 4S tyres – we can’t imagine with all of the power and torque that these would last very long though. Hellucination

The model was created for Stellantis design honco Ralph Gilles who aided in the design process. He stated that: “In restoring this ’68, it was our mission to carefully and tastefully modernise countless details, adjust the proportions but to keep them faithful, reduce the weight yet keep it comfortable enough to drive cross country, and finally create a one-of-a-kind piece that the forefathers of the brand could only have dreamed of.”
