The 2022 Isle of Man TT starts today – what to expect

This will be the first time in three years the motorcycle race through the country roads of the self-governing British Crown dependency will take place. Here is what to expect from the 2022 Isle of Man TT.2022 Isle of Man TT

We don’t normally report on anything with less than four wheels, with the occasional three wheeler making some newsworthy content. However the iconic motorcycle race through the British isle is something a little bit different. The nail biting action through the quaint streets and single lane B-roads of the Isle of Man are as intriguing to watch for the scenic beauty as it is for the anxiety-inducing action which has riders going through villages in excess of 300 km/h.

From today, the 29th of May up until Friday, the 3rd of June. Roads around the small island will be closed to host the qualifying sessions with categories including superbikes, superstock, supersport, supertwin and sidecar. The race week will take place from Saturday, the 4th of June and run up until Friday, the 10th of June. More detailed information on the two-week event can be found here

The 60,72 km course through the British Crown dependency will grace TT icons and local heroes who will provide unrivalled performances and nail biting entertainment to the fans that will be enjoying the event, the first one after a three year hiatus. The world famous event will also host John McGuinness MBE who will be making his 100th TT start.

Here are some highlights from the 2019 Dunlop Senior TT.

Fans in attendance will be able to enjoy a first Monster Energy Fan Park that will be providing free, live entertainment throughout the two-week event. Those who are interested in watching that aren’t able to attend the event in person can access all the action as it happens with the TT+ Live Pass for a subscription fee.

If high-revving, two wheel machines of the 2022 Isle of Man TT still aren’t your thing, read about the Subaru Impreza that broke the record for a production car through the course here
