The fresh-faced Everest may have prolonged wait time

The fresh-faced Everest has just been given the stamp of approval for our local market, but the Ford Africa president has mentioned that there are still global supply chain challenges which may prolong waiting times for the new model.

The automotive world has seemingly never experienced such long-term delays as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although in the several years since the manufacturing sector and the world alike were put on hold, things have been moderately returning to normal.

With a popular product brewing in their portfolio with the fresh-faced Everest, Neale Hill, President of Ford Motor Company Africa Region has reiterated that the model may be delayed to hit showroom floors for customers wanting to purchase the latest flagship SUV for the Blue Oval in South Africa.

“We are already seeing a high demand around the world for Next-Gen Everest, and we are confident that this new model will live up to expectations for all those who have reserved a vehicle. However, global supply chain challenges, including shipping logistics, are causing extended wait times across the industry,” says Hill.

Ford South Africa further added: “Our local teams are working around the clock with global colleagues to get vehicles to dealers and customers as soon as possible. This includes accelerating vehicle arrivals and keeping customers updated every step of the way. We are confident that our Next-Generation Everest will live up to expectations for all those who have reserved a vehicle.”

It is unconfirmed exactly how long the wait time for the fresh-faced Everest will be but prospective buyers may have to sit tight for a few months until stock is replenished locally after it officially goes on sale in Q1 of 2023.

This news is nothing to be alarmed about since volume manufacturers across the board are still filling order books, just with an unimpeded flow of models still uncertain for the near future.
