GWM’s two new energy brands, WEY and ORA presented a selection of vehicles to the attendees of the lucrative Paris Motor Show. The 2022 edition of the event also served as a launching platform into the European market for the WEY Coffee 01 and ORA Good Cat (namely Funky Cat in the European market).

Speaking at the Paris Motor Show 2022, Henry Meng, President of GWM Europe noted, “The Paris Motor Show is the perfect opportunity to present GWM and our products to the European market as well as the world. WEY and ORA are the first two brands of GWM that enter the European market.”

Of the two new energy brands, WEY is focused around high-end luxury and leading technology with standout features including a Smart Driving, Smart Cockpit and Smart Device abilities. On display at the Paris Motor Show from the Chinese subsidiary were the WEY Coffee 01 and WEY Coffee 02.

The former will be launched in Europe, featuring intelligent hybrid DHT technology that boasts “ultra-long pure electric driving distance range” while performance and smart functions are at its core.

Along with WEY is ORA, who have as comical-looking exterior designs as the naming conventions chosen for the market. Prior to this year, the sub-division of GWM created a visually similar version of the original Volkswagen Beetle but the newcomers have evolved this design language into a playful yet refined and original final product.

This is crucial since ORA is the more fashionable pure electric solution of the two new energy brands. The automaker state that “ORA strives to bring a fresh new approach to electric mobility life to the European market.” The motor show was home to models like the Good Cat (namely Funky Cat in the European market), Good Cat GT (namely Funky Cat GT in the European market), and Next ORA Cat. Comical naming conventions aside, these products will be pivotal as GWM accelerates the implementation of its new energy strategy through its layout in the European market.

“We are committed to creating a cleaner and sustainable future for our customers. In 2023, GWM will complete its first zero-carbon emission factory. By 2025, the five brands of GWM will launch more than 50 new energy models in the global market in total,” said Henry Meng.
