The Mercedes-AMG G63 bakkie by Pit26 is a beast on wheels, combining the rugged durability of a bakkie with the power and luxury of a Mercedes-AMG vehicle. This custom creation by the tuning company Pit26 Motorsports takes the iconic G-Class to new heights, creating a vehicle that is both stylish and powerful.

The G63 Pickup’s exterior is a sight to behold. The bakkie features a bold and rugged design that is instantly recognizable as a G-Class vehicle. The boxy shape and upright stance of the vehicle exude a sense of strength and toughness, while the signature AMG Panamericana grille adds a touch of refinement and style. According to Pit26, some fairly drastic modifications of the entire rear end of the vehicle had to happen in order to turn the Mercedes-AMG G63 SUV into a bakkie. Consequently, this customization job starts off by cutting a G63 in two, After that, the chassis gets extended by 20 inches, and a cargo bed gets attached to the rear of the truck.

The G63 bakkie also gets redesigned front and rear bumpers that provide rugged capability and meaner looks while also accommodating a front winch. Shocks and coils get upgraded to Bilstein performance-grade equipment, and this bakkie gets new upper and lower control arms. Full lower-truss support is added to keep the extended length of the bakkie rigid and robust. Finally, the modification job comes to an end with the installation of portal axles and huge 38-inch all-terrain tyres that raise ground clearance by 9 inches.

The powertrain remains stock, featuring a twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 that produces 430 kW of power and 850 N.m of torque paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels

While the Mercedes-AMG G63 Pickup by Pit26 is certainly not a vehicle for everyone, it is a stunning example of what can be accomplished with a little creativity and engineering.
