At first glance, the Microlino is nothing short of remarkable. It’s not just another electric car, but a city runabout that is space-saving and effortlessly cool. Despite being a new company, Micro Mobility has succeeded in creating a desirable vehicle, something that even established companies have tried and failed to do.

Microlino’s unique design is inspired by the legendary BMW Isetta bubble car of the 1950s and 1960s. It’s a modern reinterpretation of that classic design, complete with a single refrigerator door in the front and headlights mounted on pods affixed to the sides of the body. These same pods house the side rear-view mirrors, showcasing a thoughtful design that is both stylish and practical.

The Microlino is the perfect crossover between a scooter and a car, designed as a solution for urban mobility. Equipped with a 14 kWh Lithium-Ion electric motor that produces 12,5 kW of power and 89 N.m of torque, this electric scooter car can reach a top speed of 90 km/h and can accelerate from 0-50 km/h in just 5 seconds. Its powerful lithium battery provides an impressive driving range of 230 km on a single charge, and it can be charged in just 1 hour using a Type 1 charger, using a regular wall outlet is also an option but that will take a bit longer.

According to Micro Mobility, the Microlino can carry two adults and up to 3 beer crates, making it the perfect vehicle for city errands or a weekend getaway. With its eye-catching looks, peppy acceleration, and more than enough range for a vehicle of its size, the Microlino is not just a car, but a lifestyle.

With its fascinating and captivating allure that has taken the world by storm, its popularity is only set to grow although based on its specific purpose in crowded city centres, it’s unlikely that one of these quiet electro-mobiles will ever make its way into South Africa.
