Suzuki celebrates Swifts stellar South African Q1 performance

Suzuki Auto’s journey within the South African market has been nothing short of extraordinary. Over the past decade, the brand has transformed from an underdog to a formidable contender rivalling industry stalwarts. With its recent achievements in the first quarter of 2023, Suzuki has marked a significant milestone in its brand history, celebrating its most successful quarter to date with the Swift achieving most popular passenger vehicle.

Between the period from January to April, Suzuki Auto recorded an impressive sales figure of 16 020 vehicles. This remarkable feat translates to a market share of over 13% in the highly competitive South African passenger vehicle market. Such an accomplishment is a testament to the brand’s unwavering pursuit of customer satisfaction.

Henno Havenga, the Manager of Dealer Sales at Suzuki Auto South Africa, acknowledges the pivotal role played by the brand’s dealerships in this triumph. He emphasizes that the dealers not only account for the majority of Suzuki’s vehicle sales but also serve as the primary point of contact between the brand and its customers. They embody the Suzuki experience and contribute significantly to its ongoing success.

Notably, in the month of April, the Suzuki dealer network was responsible for an astounding 99% of all Suzuki vehicle sales. Out of the total of 3 620 vehicles sold, the dealerships proudly contributed 3 605 units. Such an extraordinary achievement firmly establishes Suzuki as one of the most esteemed brands in the country, revered for its exceptional products and unrivalled customer service.

Delving into the sales statistics further reveals a fascinating fact: in April alone, Suzuki dealers sold an impressive 1 215 Suzuki Swift models. This means that South African consumers purchased more Suzuki Swifts than any other passenger vehicle on the market during the time. The hatchback’s popularity is a result of its impressive value for money, fuel economy and frugal performance.
