While specific powertrain details have not been disclosed, sources have mentioned that the iCAR 03 will possess power capabilities similar to a 2,5-litre turbocharged engine. It will employ a pure electric drivetrain and offer various range options. The vehicle is expected to feature iCAR’s intelligent cabin and driving technologies, along with over 20 intelligent sensors, enabling Level 2+ autonomous driving capabilities. The anticipated dimensions of the vehicle are approximately 4 371 mm in length, 1 909 mm in width, and 1 709 mm in height, with a wheelbase reaching 2 700 mm.

The overall design of the iCAR 03 is characterized by a square shape, featuring short overhangs and a four-door layout. The vehicle employs a steel-aluminium hybrid body structure. Notable exterior details include a roof rack, sunroof, five-spoke wheels, and a square-shaped external storage box. Moving on to the interior, the design language of the iCAR 03 follows the rugged aesthetics of the exterior. It adopts a square design with straight lines as differentiating elements, complemented by metallic accents, creating a sense of technological sophistication within the cabin.

When asked to comment on the possibility of Chery introducing an EV into their local offerings, the Chinese firm had this to say: “Chery SA will not be introducing electric vehicles this year. Unfortunately, development for RHD markets takes a bit longer so EV introduction is likely to happen in Q1 2024 at this rate.”
