Pricing for the updated Mercedes-Benz A-Class range has been details – retaining its iconic character while offering improved comfort, here’s how much the diminutive Merc will cost affluent buyers.

A-Class

Just to refresh your memory, the new A-Class brings a powerful and dynamic design to the forefront. The front boasts a sloping bonnet with power bulges and a distinctive ‘shark nose’. The redesigned radiator grille features a unique star pattern, while LED headlamps and flush wheels enhance the sporty feel. The AMG Line offers black alloy wheels for a style-focused driver.

A-Class

Inside, the A-Class offers a modern and avant-garde look. The base variant includes comfortable seats with embossed upholstery. The Progressive trim offers various interior colours, including beige and sage grey, while the AMG Line features aluminium trim and red stitching. The A-Class is equipped with a standard dual-screen display, with options for larger screens.

The MBUX system is intuitive and can be customized with various display styles and colours. The system’s voice assistant, Hey Mercedes, is more capable and integrated with online services for enhanced connectivity.

Safety features have been upgraded, including improved Lane Keeping Assist and 360-degree camera-assisted parking. Performance-wise, the A-Class offers a choice between petrol and diesel engines, with AMG models providing high-performance alternatives.

Speaking of the AMG models, the A35 and A45 S represent the epitome of sportiness in the A-Class series. These models come with refined aesthetics and offer the choice between hatchback and sedan variants. The AMG Performance steering wheel with steering wheel buttons adds to the driving experience.

The A35 AMG is a mild hybrid with extra power at start-up, while the A45 S 4MATIC+ boasts impressive power and acceleration. With its advanced features, balanced proportions, and updated design, the A-Class brings a touch of luxury to the compact segment. In the words of Mark Raine, Co-CEO MBSA, “The new A-Class AMG is the quintessential luxury hot hatch in the South African market, the ultimate must-have item which is your partner in crime to conquer the urban jungle – “A” street king”.
