Both models have undergone a significant transformation under the skin, with a shift from the previous twin-turbo V6 and V8 engines to 2,0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder powerplants borrowed from the A45 S hot hatch. These engines also come with varying levels of hybrid assistance.
Let’s start with the GLC43 4Matic Coupe. Under its stylish exterior lies an M139 2,0-litre inline-four petrol engine, enhanced by larger turbochargers and further bolstered by a 48-volt mild hybrid system that incorporates a belt-driven starter generator (RSG). This model features the AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel-drive system for added traction. On the other hand, the GLC63S E Performance Coupe boasts a more complex setup, beginning with an upgraded version of the M139 engine. This powerhouse is also equipped with a larger turbocharger and an integrated electric motor powered by a substantial 400-volt system.

In terms of performance, the GLC43 Coupe delivers 310 kW of power and 500 N.m of torque, while its big brother, the GLC63, takes things up a notch with an impressive combined output of 500 kW and 1 020 N.m. The top speed for the GLC43 is limited to 250 km/h, while the GLC63 can push the boundaries further, reaching up to 275 km/h. Both models feature the AMG’s 9-speed automatic transmission with a clutch pack instead of the traditional torque converter. The GLC43 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4,8 seconds, while the formidable GLC63 S can accomplish the same feat in a mere 3,5 seconds.
The range-topping GLC63 S also adopts an electric drive unit (EDU), forming a P3 hybrid layout. This configuration includes an electric motor situated on the rear axle with a two-speed transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. This setup, combined with a fully variable AMG Performance 4Matic+ system, allows the rear electric motor to send power to the front wheels if necessary, ensuring all-wheel drive capability even when the engine is not running. Power for the electric motors is sourced from a 6,1-kWh battery, capable of a continuous output of 80 kW or a peak of 150 kW for ten seconds. Charging can be done via AC.
The AMG models feature an upscale cabin with Nappa leather-wrapped AMG steering wheels and seats dressed in Mercedes’ MB-Tex faux leather. Sport seats and front seats with an embossed AMG logo are available as optional extras. AMG branding is prominently displayed on floor mats, door sills, and throughout the interior. The cabin houses a sporty-feeling interior that aligns with the overall C-Class/GLC lineup. The vehicle boasts dual displays for the gauge cluster and infotainment screen, and it’s equipped with Mercedes-AMG’s distinctive split-spoke steering wheel.
To enhance the visual appeal, Mercedes offers several equipment packages, including the AMG Exterior Night package (featuring high-gloss black accents), AMG Night Package Exterior II (with Dark Chrome accents), AMG optics package (exclusive to the GLC43), and AMG Exterior Carbon Package.
Local pricing and specification for the newcomers is yet to be confirmed.
