AC Schnitzer has attempted to increase the M2’s dynamism and sportiness while trying to reduce weight. Power output has been left undisturbed, and we won’t see any increase in power until the tuner’s power mods are complete. Below its boxy frame now live several branded components. The M suspension kit that once supported the G87 has been uprooted and replaced by the tuner’s RS adjustable coilover suspension kit and includes a spring set. Efforts from the twin-turbocharged straight-six are retorted through two sets of dual-exist stainless steel exhausts, accentuated by the “Carbon Sport” exhaust tips.

Mechanical alterations aside, this rendition of the G87 M2 wears a slew of carbon fibre components. In pursuit of greater aerodynamic capability, AC Schnitzer has laden the M2’s exterior with elements such as a front splitter (claimed to add 60 kg of downforce at 200 km/h), four-piece canards, revised side air intakes, side skirts, a rear roof spoiler, a fixed rear wing (claimed to add 85 kg of downforce at 200. km/h) and a rear diffuser to name a few of the branded components that help visually distinguish this rendition of the M2. An AC Schnitzer steering wheel with Alcantara inserts serves as one of the focal points of the revised interior.

Has AC Schnitzer improved the G87 M2’s looks or do you agree with the BimmerPorst forum user who likened the tuner’s efforts to “putting lipstick on a pig”?
