Tesla hadn’t alluded as to which model was showcased in the video, but the displayed 0 to 100 km/h time matches the figure belonging to the Cybertruck’s most potent derivative. In its most high-strung guise, referred to as the “Cyberbeast”, the Cybertruck is propelled by a tri-motor powertrain affording all four 20-inch wheels 630 kW while in “Beast Mode”. Tesla claims the Cybertruck can sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds. Additionally, Musk’s electric bakkie can lug up to 4 988 kg.

No confirmation has been released regarding which 911 model was used, but speculation points to the American firm using the least potent configuration, a Carrera T. Although weighing more than double that of a Carrera T, the Cybertruck’s abundance of power could’ve allowed it to get the upper hand on the 911, but likely only for a short while. While it is a jaw-dropping spectacle, not everyone is convinced that the drag race was legitimate and wasn’t skewed in favour of the Cybertruck.
What do you think? Was Tesla’s Cybertruck able to trump a 911 in a straight line?
