McLaren Celebrates Ayrton Senna With Unique Livery for Monaco

A stunning tribute to F1 racing icon Ayrton Senna at this year’s Monaco Grand Prix, McLaren’s MCL38 racer will sport unique ‘Senna Sempre’ livery commemorating the three-time World Champion’s legacy 30 years after his death.

Three decades ago, Formula 1 lost an icon. Renowned as one of the best to ever grace the circuit, Ayrton Senna was (and still is) commended for his racing prowess. During his tenure at the McLaren F1 team from 1988 to 1993, the Brazilian-born driver claimed 41 race wins and three F1 world driver’s titles. Now, the Woking-based automaker is paying tribute to the legend with special ‘Senna Sempre’ livery.

“The team is proud to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary life and racing legacy of Ayrton Senna through this McLaren livery. Senna remains revered and respected as Formula 1’s greatest icon, and McLaren’s most decorated driver,” said Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing.

An emotive tribute to Senna’s legacy, the livery takes inspiration from Senna’s vibrant personality and race performances at the Monaco Grand Prix. For this year’s instalment of the latter race, the unique livery will be seen on the British F1 outfit’s MCL38 race cars, piloted by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. In addition, the livery has also been applied to a pre-production version of the McLaren supercar named for the legendary driver — the McLaren Senna.

“It’s an honour to recognise Ayrton through these liveries in collaboration with both McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate his life and legacy … It will be special to see it race the streets of Monaco, a circuit which gave him so much joy and many triumphs,” said Bianca Senna, Senna Brands.
