Isuzu SA Boosts Gift of the Givers’ Disaster Relief Efforts

Isuzu Motors South Africa has joined hands with the Gift of the Givers to bolster disaster relief efforts in the Eastern Cape.

The manufacturer recently donated two Isuzu water tanker trucks and R100 000 to the humanitarian organization, providing much-needed assistance to communities ravaged by recent floods.

“We see this as an opportunity to leverage our reliable, capable, and durable vehicles to support our communities. These water tankers will empower the Gift of the Givers to navigate challenging terrain and deliver clean drinking water and critical supplies to those affected by the disaster.” – Lebogang Makoloi, ISUZU’s Department Executive for Corporate Affairs.

This donation strengthens a long-standing partnership between Isuzu and the Gift of the Givers. In 2019, Isuzu provided three Isuzu D-Max bakkies and three Isuzu trucks to the organization, significantly boosting its logistical capabilities in humanitarian and disaster relief missions.

For the Gift of the Givers, reliable transportation is an essential lifeline. “We are often the first responders in these devastating situations,” explained Dr. Imtiaz Sooliman, Gift of the Givers Founder. “The Isuzu water tankers are lifesavers, and every drop of water we deliver brings immense relief. Isuzu’s partnership is invaluable as it frees up resources we would otherwise spend on transportation, allowing us to direct those funds towards other critical needs.”
