Junior Veloce Soon to Debut as First EV from Alfa Romeo

Debuting as the first electrified Alfa Romeo in the company’s century-long history, the Junior Veloce promises the firm’s continued appeal to enthusiasts with best-in-class handling and driving dynamics.

In a few days, Alfa Romeo will unveil the dynamic capabilities of its new compact sports car, the Alfa Romeo Junior, at the prestigious Balocco Proving Ground in the Vercelli province. This will see the arrival of the SUV equipped exclusively with an electrified powertrain that outputs 207 kW, claimed to align it with the performance of the Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale Veloce models.

The Alfa Romeo Junior has undergone a development process that has focused on maximizing performance, road handling, and driving pleasure. Key figures include 25 mm lower sports suspension, direct steering calibration, anti-roll bars, 380 mm front discs with four-piston monoblock calipers, a toresen differential delivering optimal traction to the high-performance 20″ fitted to all corners. All of this equips the Alfa Romeo Junior aims to deliver best-in-class handling and driving dynamics.

The debut will take place at the Balocco Proving Ground, where industry expert drivers will test the highest-spec version of the Alfa Romeo Junior. For the first time, the international press will have access to the entire 20-km “Langhe” circuit, a genuine exclusive opportunity. This circuit, integral to the development of Alfa Romeo road cars over the last few decades, has never been opened to external drivers outside the Alfa Romeo development team.

The historic “Alfa Corse” team also tested and fine-tuned their racing cars on this track, which competed in international motor racing, including F1, DTM, and Super Turismo. This event marks a significant moment in Alfa Romeo’s rich heritage of engineering excellence and racing pedigree.
