Limited Edition Volvo XC60 Black Edition Lands in SA – Pricing

Volvo Car South Africa has introduced a limited-number of Black Edition derivatives to its XC60 line-up. Here’s what you can expect, including pricing and spec, from the new models.

Exclusively limited to 23 units, the Volvo XC60 Black Edition models have made landfall on South African shores, with the local arm of the Swedish automaker revealing pricing and spec for the latest derivatives in its XC60 portfolio.

  • B5 Plus Black Edition — R1 092 500
  • Recharge Plus Black Edition — R1 364 000
  • Recharge Ultimate Black Edition — R1 438 000

As standard, all models ship with a maintenance plan spanning five years or 100 000 km and a warranty of the same duration and distance. Five-year/unlimited km roadside assistance, DataDot and Volvo On Call are also included with the package.

So, what can you expect from the Black Edition models? Well, for starters, each variant boasts “eye-catching” exterior and interior design elements. Each derivative’s bodywork is finished in “stealthy” Onyx Black paint. At the same time, the front grille, replete with blacked-out Volvo emblem, is finished in high-gloss black. The “Volvo” lettering sited on the tailgate is also finished in black. The high-gloss black hue of the front grille has been carried over to the limited edition’s 21-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels.

Stepping inside, the limited-edition models gain a charcoal-coloured headlining. A choice of interior upholstery is available. The latter includes charcoal Nappa leather-and-textile trim or ventilated Nappa leather upholstery in the same hue.

As a reminder, the B5 derivatives 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbopetrol engine produces 183 kW and 350 N.m of torque, sent to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The plug-in hybrid, Recharge derivatives are endowed with 340 kW and 709 N.m.
