Mahikeng Resident Wins Custom Monster Energy Ford Ranger Raptor

Mpho Clive Motsamai, a 29-year-old from Mahikeng, North West Province, has experienced a remarkable turn of fortune – winning a custom Monster Energy Ford Ranger Raptor.

Motsamai’s elation was palpable. “If you ask me how happy I am from a scale of 1 – 10, I’d say I’m at 100 right now,” he said.

His win came after entering a nationwide competition by purchasing a 500 ml Monster Energy drink between 1 August, 2024 and 31 January, 2025. Out of 69 122 entries, Motsamai’s persistence paid off. He attributed his success to patience and faith, particularly after a challenging two-year period of unemployment. “I’ve been without a job for the past two years. I’ve been patient and placed my faith in God to provide. I’ve had a successful job interview this week, and now this win. This is the best week of my life,” he said. “I’ve won a dinner for two with my partner before, but nothing close to this.”

As a reminder, the new Ford Ranger Raptor is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine, producing a healthy 292 kW and 583 N.m of torque. Power is sent to all four corners via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

This specific Raptor has been customised with an LED kit, embroidered headrests, a sticker pack and Monster Energy logos. Motsamai has no plans to part with his prize, “I’m keeping this baby for sure. I come from a family where it’s said if you are given something, you never give it away – those are blessings,” he said.
