The Apex Edition Bentayga is one of only 20 crafted by Mulliner worldwide, and it sports the same Verdant green and Moonbeam finish as his 2023 Le Mans Collection Continental GT.
King’s passion for Bentley runs deep, a tradition passed down through his family. Based in Northern Ireland, his garage boasts a Bentayga Speed, a rare Continental GT3-R, and a Continental Flying Spur, all driven regularly. He’s been a loyal Bentley owner since 2010, and when the opportunity arose to commission a Le Mans Collection Continental GT, celebrating 20 years since Bentley’s Le Mans victory, he didn’t hesitate. “He leapt at the opportunity,” the company said, and adding the matching Apex Edition Bentayga was a natural next step.

The Apex Edition is based on the Bentayga S which is Bentley’s performance-focused SUV that houses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet. Outputs are 405 kW and 770 N.m of torque, propelling it from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and eventually onto 290 km/h. Features like Bentley Dynamic Ride and rear-wheel steering ensure agile handling according to the marque, while the sports exhaust reportedly makes its presence known immediately. The Apex Edition further receives 22-inch Mulliner carbon wheels, reducing unsprung mass by 44 kg, and carbon-ceramic brakes. It’s described as “the most performance-focused and dynamic Bentayga ever,” and King’s Le Mans-inspired livery only amplifies that.

His Le Mans Collection Continental GT, created to honour Bentley’s 2003 Le Mans victory, echoes the winning Speed 8’s black and green livery. The Beluga black grille features a painted #7, and the car sports black 22-inch wheels and red brake callipers. Inside, a six-wreath emblem commemorates Bentley’s six Le Mans wins, and the rotating display reveals a section of the 2003 Speed 8’s engine valve.

For King, this matching pair represents more than just a collection; it’s a testament to his dedication to the brand and its racing heritage. Mark King’s existing Bentayga Speed, with over 160 934 km on the clock, highlights his commitment to driving these cars, not just displaying them.
