At the moment, LDV offers the T60 in multiple levels of trim for the South African market, but another bakkie in its arsenal is the Terron. Expectedly, a tricked-out version of the all-electric Maxus eTerron 9 bakkie was central to the display in Shanghai. This production model which has been derived from the GST concept, features dual electric motors delivering a combined output of 354 kW. Not forgoing its bakkie size or stature, it measures in at approximately 5.6 meters in length and boasts a 3.3-meter wheelbase. Without a front-mounted ICE, the eTerron 9 offers a little bit more cargo space than a conventional bakkie with the inclusion of a frunk. While the concept included features like a drone and mountain bikes, the production version focuses on practicality and performance.

Also on display was the Maxus D90 SUV with production units shown outfitted with the firm’s 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine producing 160 kW and 480 N.m of torque.LDV South Africa is poised to introduce these models to the local market, aligning with the brand’s strategy to offer vehicles tailored to South African roads and lifestyles. Xane Peacock, National Sales Manager at LDV South Africa, emphasized the brand’s commitment to bringing smarter, more efficient, and exciting vehicles to the country, anticipating a boost in sales and brand recognition.

These two additions will slot into the local lineup comprised solely of the T60 bakkie, which is priced between R480 000 and R790 000.
