Starting with the exterior, Omoda claims the C5 has received a sportier prowess. The front end has been redesigned with a sharper grille and integrated bumper details. To continue the theme as Chery’s more affluent offerings, other changes include updated headlights and sculpted daytime running lamps. The corners sit on a set of new black-painted alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the biggest change is under the bonnet. The C5 X Series now features a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as standard, replacing the older CVT setup. It’s still paired with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, delivering 115 kW and 230 N.m of torque. According to Omoda, the new gearbox improves acceleration, shaving nearly a second off the 0–100 km/h time, which now stands at 9 seconds.

Omoda adds that the ride and handling have also received attention. The C5 drops its torsion beam rear suspension in favour of a more advanced multilink system. The brake pedal has also been revised to give sharper feedback, and the drive mode selector now includes three options: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Inside, the updates continue with new soft-touch trim on the door panels and a new 50-watt wireless charging pad, replacing the slower 15-watt unit. Omoda also mentioned that the boot space has also grown from 378 to 442 litres with the seats up, and now up to 1 149 litres with the rear seats folded.

Omoda C5 X Series Pricing:

  • C5 Lux X – R425 900
  • C5 Elegance X – R465 900

The more budget-friendly Street and Style versions remain in the lineup, offering buyers even more options. All C5 models continue to be backed by Omoda’s five-year/150,000 km warranty, a five-year/70,000 km service plan, and a ten-year/one-million km engine warranty.
