One-Off Zonda Emerges from Pagani Factory Six Years After Final Production Run

Pagani may have drawn the curtain on the Zonda years ago, but the iconic supercar refuses to fade quietly into history. Here’s a closer look at the commission of the model, dressed in a fetching shade of blue – we can imagine it cost a pretty penny.

The latest chapter in its story comes in the form of a new one-off creation—the Zonda Unico Blue Carbon Roadster. Built through the marque’s Unico customisation program, this exclusive commission is a rare encore for one of the most revered names in the supercar world.

The car, finished in a deep blue carbon fibre weave, was commissioned by an anonymous client and crafted entirely to their specifications. According to Pagani, it was “born in the silence of the Kunlun Mountains,” a poetic nod to the customer’s vision and the remote inspiration behind its design. While Pagani has not released technical specifications, it’s likely the car uses the familiar 7.3-litre Mercedes-AMG V12 engine found in other Zonda one-offs, which produces around 567 kW.

Design highlights include a large rear spoiler paired with a secondary wing, both sculpted for high-speed stability. The dark blue carbon finish gives the car a dramatic yet elegant presence, while the cabin is expected to be just as bespoke, though Pagani hasn’t shared interior images or details.

This one-off may stir debate about how many Zondas have actually been built. Pagani claimed the 140th example, revealed last year, would be the final one. Yet, here we are in 2025 with what appears to be the 141st. This proves the car, which was originally unveiled in 1999, has had an unending appeal in the modern era dominated by downsizing and hybridisation trends.

This may not be the last Zonda either, since this was developed through the Unico program, which Pagani has tailored for clients wanting the opportunity to personalise almost every detail of their car. Considering these models are selling upwards of $5 million (nearly R100 million), this one-off would likely cost as much, if not more!
