Alfa Romeo Dominates 1000 Miglia Podium With Past and Present Models
Known as the most beautiful race in the world, the 1000 Miglia has become a staple for the wares of yesteryear to strut their stuff, but 2025 was the year of Alfa Romeo, with another podium finish.

Etched into the annals of automotive history and heritage, Alfa Romeo is one of many storied manufacturers that competed in the famed 1000 Miglia during its formal running. Now a regularity rally, it serves as an opportunity for the wares of yesteryear to sample the routes they once hurtled down, in a far more sedate manner. In this 43rd edition of the 1000 Miglia, the Italian automaker managed to claim the podium in several classes yet again.

Team Villa Trasqua’s 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport, driven by Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli, claimed overall victory in what’s widely regarded as “the most beautiful race in the world”. They were joined on the podium by two more Alfa Romeos: the 6C 1500 SS piloted by Argentina’s Erejomovich and Llanos, and the 6C 1750 GS Spider Zagato steered by Tonconogy and Ruffini. Alfa Romeo added that this harks back as a celebration of the brand’s 115-year legacy.

Taken from Stellantis Heritage Collection was a 1956 Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint too, and while usually displayed at the Alfa Romeo Historical Museum in Arese, the coupé was campaigned by the Luna Rossa sailing team as a tribute to their partnership with Alfa in the build-up to the America’s Cup.

Looking to the present and future, this year’s 1000 Miglia was the first public debut of the new 33 Stradale supercar. While representing a modern reinterpretation of its 1960s namesake, it is underpinned by the most modern technology available to the Italian automaker and employs a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which delivers 462 kW. Alongside this limited edition (33 units) model were also Alfa Romeo’s latest production models, including the Junior Hybrid Q4, Tonale, Stelvio Intensa, and Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport.
