Welcome the new Defender Trophy, which isn’t just another off-road event but a calling for off-roaders keen on demonstrating their skill, endurance, and teamwork, all leading to a global final in Africa in 2026.

The idea pulls from Defender’s old Trophy and Challenge events but adds a modern spin that not only features tough driving stages, physical trials, but also mental puzzles. Winners of the global final will head straight into a conservation mission with long-time Defender partner Tusk, turning adventure into actual impact.

To mark the occasion, Defender has rolled out the 110 Trophy Edition, a kitted-out model built for proper expedition work. It comes in Deep Sandglow Yellow or Keswick Green, both nods to Defender’s past. Black accents across the bonnet, wheels, and body add some attitude, and if you’re planning to do more than just look the part, there’s an optional matte wrap to protect it on the trail.

Gear-wise, it’s well sorted: black 20-inch alloys wrapped in all-terrains, a front undershield, scuff plates, and a raised air intake for dusty conditions. Inside, there’s a mix of rugged and premium, black leather seats, Trophy-branded treadplates, and a colour-coded cross-car beam that adds a bit of flair.

It also comes loaded with adventure gear: a roof rack, deployable ladder, gear carrier and classic mud flaps. If you’re keen to enter the Trophy challenge, applications are open until 31 July 2025. You’ll need to be over 23, able to swim, hold a license, and speak English. Local rounds begin later this year, followed by national events early next year.

The Defender 110 Trophy Edition is available now in South Africa, starting at R2 227 800. It’s a pricey ticket, but for the right kind of driver, it’s more than just a vehicle, it’s a passport to adventure.
