It may not be up to everyone’s taste, but the military-inspired Tasman bakkie is forging ahead with its unique styling cues. Local introduction is expected in the second half of 2025, but before it arrives, some intriguing aftermarket ARB modifications have emerged to accompany the boxy proportions. These, along with Kia’s own factory accessory line-up, are the beginnings of rugged accessories that are expected to be offered for the bakkie, with other aftermarket manufacturers expected to jump on the bandwagon in the near future, too.

Front and centre are two off-road bumper options, which are both equipped with serious skid plates and proper recovery points. One of the iterations includes a heavy-duty bull bar that extends around the front fenders and side steps, ideal for taking on tough terrain. Additional mounting points for LED spotlights up front and across the roof, too. Other accessories shown in the renders include a roof rack, hard tonneau bed covers, and modular tray and canopy options. These include enclosed cargo compartments suited for tool-hauling workmen (or tradies in Australia) or gear-laden overlanders. For those venturing off the grid, ARB has demonstrated a concept with dual spare wheel carriers, a fold-out ladder, and a second roof rack fitted over the rear.

To make it look even more purposeful, ARB has demonstrated the renderings with a Tasman that wears a suspension lift, and rolls on chunky beadlock-style wheels wrapped in aggressive all-terrain rubber. While details on the lift haven’t been disclosed, ARB is expected to offer a full suspension kit as part of the production-ready accessory range once the bakkie hits showrooms.

The renderings, according to ARB, “don’t just show what’s possible — they hint at what’s next”, suggesting these components will form part of an official aftermarket line for the Tasman in the near future.
