Omoda & Jaecoo Breaks 1 000-Unit Sales Milestone

June 2025 was a record-breaking month for the Omoda & Jaecoo brand, with the Chinese automaker surpassing the 1 000-unit sales milestone.

In June 2025, South Africa’s new-car sales maintained the momentum gained in previous months, with several automakers seeing an increase in sales, thanks to the continued sales growth in the passenger car and light commercial vehicle (LCV) segments.

The Omoda & Jaecoo brand was one of these carmakers, with the Chinese firm’s local sales surpassing the four-figure mark for the first time since it entered the South African market in 2023. In June 2025, a combined 1 009 new Omoda & Jaecoo models left showroom floors.

Leading the charge in the company’s growth in sales was the C5 lineup, with a total number of 693 units sold — the ‘standard’ C5 and recently-introduced C5 X Series contributing 478 and 215 units to the latter figure, respectively. The manufacturer’s second best-seller was the Jaecoo J7, with 230 new J7 units finding homes in June 2025, while 86 customers put pen to paper for the automaker’s flagship Omoda SUV, the C9.

“Crossing the 1 000 mark is more than a milestone — it shows that South Africans are responding to something fresh, exciting and relevant,” said Hans Greyling, General Manager for Omoda & Jaecoo South Africa. “We’re incredibly proud of what the teams and our dealer network have achieved.”
