It seems the fitment of ‘Black’ packages to vehicles have become all the rage, with several automakers introducing such packages to some of their existing model lineups. Case in point: in July 2025, Porsche revealed the Cayenne Black Edition, while Jaguar Land Rover whipped the wraps off the Defender Octa Black, Range Rover Sport Black, and Range Rover SV Black.

Now, Ineos Automotive has handed the ‘Black Edition’ treatment to the Grenadier Station Wagon and Quartermaster double-cab bakkie, and, thanks to the folks at duoporta, we have pricing for the new derivatives.

Ineos Grenadier Black Edition Price in SA

The Grenadier Station Wagon and Quartermaster Black Edition models are priced from R1 965 000 for both the petrol- and diesel-powered derivatives, making them R165 500 more expensive than the “standard” variants and R20 500 more expensive than the equivalent Fieldmaster Edition and Trialmaster Edition models. Considering the Grenadier Quartermaster Black Edition’s sticker price, it now takes the top spot on our list comprising the most expensive bakkies in South Africa. A five-year/100 000 km warranty is included in the package.

As mentioned, the Grenadier Station Wagon and Quartermaster, which we sampled in Trialmaster Edition form at the local launch in the Baviaanskloof in July 2024, is available with the choice of petrol and diesel engine options – both 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six units. Sourced from BMW, former and latter produce 210 kW/450 N.m and 183 kW/550 N.m, respectively. Power and torque are sent to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
