Early last month, we reported on Lamborghini’s teaser for the then-upcoming Fenomeno hypercar, and now the covers have finally come off at Monterey Car Week.

Under the skin, the Fenomeno (“phenomenon”) shares its underpinnings with the Revuelto, but features a slightly reworked version of Lamborghini’s 6.5-litre hybridised V12 powerplant. The hybrid system has been upgraded with a 7 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering more power and extending electric-only range from 5 km to a claimed 20 km. This unit’s combined output is a staggering 794 kW – 47 kW more than that of the Revuelto.

According to Lamborghini, the Fenomeno accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a lightning-fast 2.4 seconds – 0.1 seconds quicker than the Revuelto – before hitting a top speed of 350 km/h.

Visually, the Fenomeno makes a bold statement with its lower half finished in exposed carbon fibre, giving the hypercar an aggressive side profile. The roof and engine cover, mirrors and large air vents on the bonnet and rear quarter panels are also finished in exposed carbon fibre. The aggressive styling continues with reworked front and rear bumpers, sleeker headlamps and vertical Y-shaped LED taillamps flanking a quad exhaust system.

Inside, the cabin remains largely unchanged from that of the Revuelto, retaining the same steering wheel, floating centre console, digital instrument cluster, and passenger-side display.

With just 29 units set for production, the Fenomeno commands an eye-watering starting price of about $3.5 million (around R61 million).
