Limited-Edition Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition for SA: Price & Specs

Land Rover South Africa has announced the Defender Trophy Edition is heading to South Africa in limited numbers. See pricing and specs below.

In June 2025, Jaguar Land Rover announced the introduction of the Defender Trophy Edition, a special-edition model inspired by the Trophy and Challenge events of yesteryear. Now, the local arm of the British marque has announced how many units of this model is destined for our shores.

Limited to 60 units locally, the Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition is priced from R2 227 800, which includes a five-year/100 000 km maintenance plan and a warranty of similar duration and distance.

The Defender Trophy Edition will be available with the choice of two heritage-inspired body hues: Deep Sandglow Yellow and Keswick Green. The limited-edition further features gloss black finishes for such items as the bonnet, lower sides of the body, and brake callipers – the latter housed behind 20-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in all-terrain tyres. Model-specific decals can be found on the bonnet and C-pillars, while ‘Trophy’ badging are sited at the rear.

The Trophy Edition also gains a selection of adventure-focused accessories as standard. The latter includes a roof rack, deployable roof ladder, side-mounted gear carrier, and a snorkel. It also features gloss black wheelarch protection, a front undershield and a rear scuff plate.

Employing the firm’s (D350) 3.0-litre inline-six turbodiesel powertrain, the Trophy Edition produces 257 kW and 700 N.m of torque, available from 4 000 and 1 500 r/min, respectively. Power is delivered to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The automaker claims a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.4 seconds, a top speed of 191 km/h, and an average fuel consumption of 8.5 L/100 km.
