In August 2025, leaked brochure images and illustrations gave us a glimpse into the new Toyota Hilux’s exterior and interior. Now, more spy shots of the ninth iteration have surfaced. Shared by Instagram account AutonetMagz, the fresh spy shots show a camouflaged single-cab derivative on the road.

While the exterior remains under wraps, the front end of the model seen here seemingly resembles that of the virtual render (above) that was shared by Thailand-based publication Headlight Magazine.

It seems the most significant exterior revisions have been made to the front facia, while the silhouette remains seemingly familiar to that of the current Hilux models – of which we sampled the Legend 55 before its official South African launch. (Local pricing for the Legend 55 here.) Though, looking at the below illustration, it seems the most notable changes have been reserved for the interior, where we expect digital instrumentation and a larger touchscreen infotainment system will be present.

Like the double-cab variant, engine options for the ninth-generation single-cab model remains unconfirmed. As a reminder, the outgoing single cab is available with the choice of 102 kW/183 N.m 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 122 kW/245 N.m 2.7-litre atmospheric petrol, 110 kW/343 N.m and 110 kW/400 N.m 2.4-litre turbodiesel, and 150 kW/500 N.m 2.8-litre turbodiesel.
