Distributed via CVH Auto Group, which is based in Bryanston, Gauteng, the first factory-built right-hand-drive Corvette Stingray units have officially touched down on South African shores (see local pricing here.)

As a reminder, the Corvette Stingray ships with the US automaker’s Z51 performance package as standard. Equipped with a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8, which delivers 369 kW and 637 N.m of torque to the road via the rear wheels, the Stingray completes the obligatory 0-100 km/h sprint in a claimed 3.5 seconds.

However, this isn’t the only model available in South Africa. Indeed, the more focused Z06, which employs a 5.5-litre atmospheric V8, also forms part of the local model offering. The Z01 is endowed with 475 kW and 595 N.m of torque, which allows this model to sprint to the 100 km/h marker from a standstill in a claimed 3.0 seconds.

The Stingray is priced from R3 700 000 to R7 600 000 locally, and is available in both a coupé and convertible body styles.
