2025 Toyota Hilux Legend 55 in SA: Price & Specs

The Toyota Hilux Legend 55 has officially launched in South Africa. See pricing below.

The fifth heritage-inspired Hilux to come from Toyota South Africa’s stable since this nameplate was introduced to our shores in 1969, the Hilux Legend 55, which we’ve sampled for an exclusive first local drive in August 2025, has officially launched in SA.

2025 Toyota Hilux Legend 55 Price in SA

The Hilux Legend 55 is available in four flavours: two double-cab derivatives and two Xtra Cab variants, each available with the choice of a 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain. The former and latter will be priced from R885 700 (4×2) and R935 900 (4×4), and R728 300 (4×2) and R813 700 (4×4), respectively.

The Legend 55 employs the Japanese automaker’s tried-and-tested 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel powertrain in 150 kW and 500 N.m state of tune. The GD-6 unit powering the Legend 55 is exclusively coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains are on offer.

The Legend 55 package includes a variety of model-specific exterior design items to set it apart from its stablemates. The latter includes a bespoke styling package, bash plate, new sports bar, roller shutter, and a tow bar.
