Ahead of its global debut at the end of this year, Porsche has revealed the interior of the Cayenne Electric. The Stuttgart automaker has described the emissions-free Cayenne’s interior as an “experimental space” that combines sporty design with digital innovation.

The centrepiece of the interior is the firm’s Flow Display – a curved, 14.25-inch OLED touchscreen sited at the centre of the facia. Digital instrumentation is also present, while a 14.9-inch front passenger display can be fitted at additional cost. The head-up display features augmented reality; projecting navigation arrows and lane guidance onto the driver’s view of the road. The system also features a new AI-powered voice assistant, which makes operating vehicle functions more intuitive.

Another new feature is surface heating, which includes heated seats, armrests, and sections of the door panels. The cabin also receives ambient and communication lighting. The sliding panoramic roof is the largest ever fitted to a Porsche and can be dimmed using the Variable Light Control function. Four opacity modes – clear, semi, bold and matte – can be selected using the electrically operated liquid crystal film.

Buyers can choose from 13 colour combinations, four material combinations, and five trim packages, making the all-electric model the most individually configurable Cayenne yet. In addition to leather, a Race-Tex interior with Pepita print textile is also available. New colours that will debut on the Cayenne Electric include magnesium grey, lavender, and sage grey.

Said Markus Auerbach, Director Interior Design at Style Porsche, “Our goal was to combine quintessential Cayenne characteristics and the newly developed display surfaces with the features of the new ‘Porsche Digital Interaction’ into a harmonious overall package. One that’s innovative, forward-thinking and meticulously thought through down to the finest detail.”
