Following a raft of reports and rumours speculating what shape the new FJ Cruiser, or Land Cruiser FJ as it is officially named, could take, Toyota finally revealed the “baby” Land Cruiser in October 2025. But in terms of size, how does the Japanese automaker’s most compact Land Cruiser compare to its bigger brother, the Land Cruiser Prado? We put them side by side…

Land Cruiser FJ and Land Cruiser Prado Height

In terms of height, the Land Cruiser FJ stands 1 960 mm tall, making it 25 mm taller than the Land Cruiser Prado (1 935 mm). Interestingly, the most compact Land Cruiser is also slightly taller than its largest Land Cruiser stablemate, the Land Cruiser 300 (1 955 mm). Toyota has yet to announce how tall the FJ rides from the ground. However, the firm has said its “high ground clearance”, among other things, will ensure performance expected of a true Land Cruiser.

The largest difference in size between the FJ and Prado is the respective lengths of each model’s bodywork. The FJ measures 4 575 mm nose to tail, while the Prado is 350 mm longer. As a reminder, while the Prado is equipped with Toyota’s tried-and-tested 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel, producing 150 kW and 500 N.m of torque in this application, the FJ was unveiled with the carmaker’s (2TR-FE) 2.7-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which, in this application, churns out 120 kW and 246 N.m.
