The Cayenne Electric was unveiled in two guises: Cayenne and Turbo. The latter, “base” model’s twin electric-motor setup produces 300 kW when in “normal” operation; increasing to 325 kW, with 825 N.m torque on tap, when engaging launch control. Porsche claims the Cayenne completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds, before topping out at 230 km/h.
Spearheading the current lineup, the Turbo derivative produces 630 kW as standard. However, if you thought this figure is eye-widening, wait until you read the next line. Activate launch control, and the the Turbo’s peak power output is lifted to 850 kW – this and the whopping 1 500 N.m on offer allowing for a whip-crack 0-100 km/h time of just 2.5 seconds. The Turbo tops out at 260 km/h.
According to the Stuttgart automaker, the Cayenne Electric offers leading energy recovery figures; achieving Formula E levels with up to 600 W of recuperative power. Day to day, around 97% of all braking operations can be handled by the electric motors, with the mechanical items rarely needing to intervene. However, Turbo customers wanting some extra bite can specify Porsche’s Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) setup as an option.

The Cayenne Electric models feature a newly developed high-voltage battery pack. The 113 kWh item allows for a WLTP operating range of up to 642 km and 623 km for the Cayenne and Turbo, respectively. Thanks to the 800 V electric architecture, the battery can receive up to 390 kW, or 400 kW under specific conditions, at a DC fast-charging facility. Porsche claims a 10-80% charge takes less than 16 minutes, with a 10-minute DC charge adding up to 325 km (Cayenne) and 315 km (Turbo) of range.
In addition, the Cayenne Electric is the first Porsche to support wireless charging (of 11 kW), where the charging process starts automatically when the car is parked above a floor plate. This optional feature essentially replaces the need for a traditional wall box.
The Cayenne Electric is fitted with a raft of active aerodynamic elements, including movable cooling air flaps up front, and a roof-mounted adaptive rear spoiler. The Turbo also gains active aero blades. Sited opposite sides the rear bumper, the latter items extend to improve airflow; leading to an increase in range.
The Cayenne Electric measures 4 985 mm in length, making it 55 mm longer than the internal combustion (ICE) model, 1 980 mm in width, and 1 674 mm in height. Compared to its ICE sibling, the wheelbase is almost 130 mm longer, at 3 023 mm.
