5 Slowest-Braking Vehicles CAR Magazine Tested in 2025

We’ve rounded up the five slowest-braking vehicles, based on their 100-0 km/h times, CAR magazine tested in 2025.

As part of CAR’s stringent road test regimen, we evaluate each vehicle’s braking performance based on their 100-0 km/h braking times – the latter recorded by our trusty RaceLogic Vbox. Here’s the five vehicles that recorded the slowest braking times in 2025.

5. Honda Amaze 1.2 Trend MT: 3.29 seconds

The new Honda Amaze, tested in Trend specification, is fitted with 240 mm ventilated discs up front and 180 mm rear drum brakes, which brought the 952 kg (tested) value-oriented compact sedan to a halt in 3.29 seconds.

4. Jeep Wrangler Limited 2.0T Rubicon: 3.30 seconds

Road tested in the May 2025 issue of CAR, the (2 213 kg, tested) Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon’s 330 mm ventilated front/342 mm solid rear discs brought it to a standstill in an average time of 3.30 seconds.

3. Suzuki Swift 1.2 GLX MT: 3.31 seconds

We road tested the new Suzuki Swift in the March 2025 issue of CAR. Fitted with ventilated discs up front and drum brakes at the rear, the five-speed manual equipped model recorded an average 100-0 km/h braking time of 3.31 seconds over a distance of 44.26 metres on our standardised test strip.

2. BAIC B40 Plus 2.0T Champion: 3.37 seconds

Road tested in the August 2025 issue of CAR, the BAIC B40 Plus (in 2.0T Champion guise) is equipped with ventilated front/solid rear brakes, which brought the 2 120 kg (tested) adventure SUV to a halt from 100 km/h in 3.37 seconds.

1. GWM Tank 300 2.4T 4WD Ultra Luxury: 3.63 seconds

The slowest-accelerating vehicle CAR tested in 2025, the 2.4-litre turbodiesel GWM Tank 300, which we evaluated for a road test in the June 2025 issue of CAR, recorded an average 100-0 km/h stopping time of 3.63 seconds over a distance of 47.06 metres.
