Mini Countryman Rugged Edition: price & specs

Mini South Africa has revealed pricing for the adventure-focused Countryman Rugged Edition models.

Mini South Africa has introduced the Rugged Edition to its local Countryman model lineup. The Countrymen Rugged Edition is exclusively available in South Africa and limited to only 100 examples. The limited-edition Countryman distinguishes itself from its stablemates through the fitment of several unique exterior styling cues and adventure-focused accessories.

The new model receives decorative bonnet stripes, a grille decal, and 18-inch Y-spoke wheels, finished in Frozen Midnight Grey and shod in all-terrain tyres. Additionally, buyers can specify an optional roof box or a roof-mounted bicycle carrier from the firm’s Original Accessories catalogue. The special edition is available can be had with the choice of four exterior hues: Nanuq White, Smokey Green, Melting Silver and Legend Grey.

The Rugged Edition models are priced from R833 903 for the two-wheel-drive Countryman C Rugged Edition in Classic trim, and R953 928 and R989 938 for the all-wheel-drive Countryman S ALL4 Rugged Edition in Classic and Favoured trim levels, respectively. This represents a R88 997, R126 000 and R162 010 premium over the standard Countryman C and S models they are based on. Included in the price are a two-year/unlimited km warranty and a five-year/100 000 km maintenance plan.

The Countryman C Rugged Edition is powered by a 115 kW/240 N.m 1.5-litre turbo-triple engine, while the Countryman S ALL4 Rugged Edition employs a more powerful (150 kW/300) 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit. Both powertrains are coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
