In November 2025, Ford South Africa announced “major changes” for its Ranger bakkie lineup in 2026. Now, the Blue Oval brand’s local arm has announced pricing for the revised Ranger portfolio, which comprises 23 models across three body styles single-cab, Super Cab and double-cab.
The revised powertrain lineup includes Ford’s 222 kW/452 N.m 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder turbopetrol engine for the first time. In addition, the 2.0-litre single-turbo (SiT) four-cylinder diesel has received a new timing chain and is now available with a 10-speed automatic transmission. With the discontinuation of the 2.0-litre bi-turbo (BiT) diesel engine, more derivatives have gained the firm’s 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel unit.
Positioned between the XLT and Wildtrak, a new Ranger Sport variant, available in Super Cab and double-cab body styles, has joined the lineup. The Ranger Sport can be had with the 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, paired with a 4×2 drivetrain, or 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel with 4×4.

The Ranger Wildtrak double-cab 4×2 employs the 2.3-litre EcoBoost motor, while the 4×4 model retains the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel, producing 184 kW and 600 N.m. The Wildtrak Super Cab 4×4 and Ranger Tremor double-cab 4×4 are also powered by the 3.0-litre V6 oil-burner. Previously offered as a standalone derivative, a Wildtrak X package is now available as an option across the Wildtrak range.
The Ranger XLT lineup is powered by the updated 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, which produces 125 kW and 405 N.m. Both the 4×2 and 4×4 models are equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The entry-level Ranger XL features the same 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel engine but can be had with either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission.
At the top of the range, the Ranger Platinum retains its 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel, while the Ranger Raptor – one of the most powerful bakkies in SA – employs a 292 kW/583 N.m 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol unit.
