Designed to celebrate the “essence” of the Discovery, the Landmark edition features an array of model-specifc exterior and interior design elements. Reserved for the Landmark edition is Tasman Blue paintwork – the latter inspired by the original Clearwater Blue heritage finish that dates back to the original Discovery.

The Landmark edition further features Graphite Atlas accents for the front and rear ‘Discovery’ script and front grille. The fore and aft skidplates are finished in Carpathian Grey. Unique to the Landmark edition, this model features a special wordmark and mountain logo on the front tread plates and B-pillars. The bespoke wordmark and logo are also displayed in the puddle lamps and can be found inside, on the centre console. The Landmark edition is equipped with a set of 21-inch alloy wheels, finished in Dark Agate Grey.

Stepping inside, the Landmark edition’s cabin features dark grey brushed aluminium trim, replete with ‘Landmark’ branding. The facia and door cards are trimmed in Tech Velour. A panoramic sunroof is included with the package.

As per Land Rover’s local configurator, the Landmark edition is exclusively available with the British automaker’s D350 powertrain. As a reminder, the 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six diesel engine produces 257 kW and 700 N.m of torque – the former and latter available from 4 000 and a low 1 500 r/min, respectively. Power is delivered to all four corners via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Land Rover claims a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 6.3 seconds

Locally, the Land Rover Discovery Landmark edition is priced from R2 136 800. Included with the price as standard are a five-year/100 000 km maintenance plan and a warranty of similar duration and distance.
