2026 JAC T9 Black Edition price & specs in South Africa

Adding to its existing T9 bakkie lineup, JAC has launched a duo of Black Edition models in South Africa. The ‘Black Edition’ treatment is available with Super Lux and Hunter spec.

The T9 Black Edition derivatives employ the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. However, in the Super Lux the oil-burner is tuned to produce 125 kW and 444 N.m of torque, while the Hunter churns out a healthier 144 kW and 487 N.m. Power is delivered to a part time four-wheel-drive system via a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission. A selection of drive modes – Sport, Normal, Eco, and Snow – are available. JAC claims a combined fuel consumption figure of 7.8 L/100 km for both derivatives.

2026 JAC T9 price in South Africa

Locally, the T9 Black Edition models are priced from R629 900 for the Super Lux and R689 900 for the Hunter. Included with the pricing as standard are a five-year/200 000 km warranty and a seven-year/100 000 km service plan.

As standard, each JAC T9 Black Edition features model-specific front grille treatment and black trim for several exterior elements – the latter including the side mirrors, door handles, and roof rails. The 18-inch alloy wheels are also finished in black. Further distinguishing the Black Edition from its stablemates are decals denoting the model’s title. Branded nudge and styling bars are also present, as well as a tonneau cover for the load bed and a tow bar. Inside, the black theme continues, with “leather-enhanced” trim to provide a premium feel with “easy cleaning”, branded headrests, and heavy-duty floor mats.
