Lamborghini Temerario Polizia joins Italian police force

Automobili Lamborghini has presented a new Temerario to the Italian State Police at a ceremony held at the automaker’s Sant’ Agata Bolognese headquarters.

Lamborghini has presented a new Temerario to the Italian State Police at a ceremony with Prefect Renato Cortese, Central Director of the traffic, railway and special units police, representing the Chief of Police, and Director General of Public Security Prefect Vittorio Pisani. The supercar, which joins the Lamborghinis already in service, will be used for vital services, such as emergency transport of organs and medical supplies. For more than 20 years, six vehicles have entered the fleet, assisting in over two hundred organ transport missions across Italy.

Lamborghini and the Polizia di Stato began this collaboration in 2004 with a first-generation Gallardo in September of that year. Later on, the Gallardo LP560-4 and a Huracán Polizia joined the fleet, and were deployed on the country’s main motorways. An Urus Performante has also been in service since 2023.

As a reminder, the Temerario employs a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain comprising a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 and a trio of electric motors. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission transfers a combined 677 kW and over 730 N.m of torque to all four corners. The Temerario’s claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time is 2.7 seconds, with the (1 690 kg, dry) Raging Bull topping out at 342 km/h. The Temerario is equipped with a carbon-ceramic braking system featuring 410 mm front/390 mm rear discs and 10-piston front/four-piston rear callipers. Lamborghini claims a 100-0 km/h stopping distance of 32 metres.

We have rounded up the top ten most dependable car brands based on a recent study by J.D. Power, ranking vehicle reliability based on the number of problems per 100 vehicles.
