Michael Schumacher’s ex-C 63 company wagon now up for sale

The W204 C 63 AMG is a special car by default with its virile and masculine growl but what makes this swooping rooftop version even more special is that it’s a wagon. However the real showstopper is that this was Michael Schumacher’s ex-C 63 company wagon and it is now up for sale!

Handled by 7-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher during his tenure with Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team.

Michael Schumacher for many will be one of the most complete Formula 1 drivers to ever have lived, lingering in discussions on who the greatest that ever competed actually was. He first retired after his successful stint at Ferrari at the end of the 2006 season but was poised to make a return to the sport in 2010 and build the Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team to the powerhouse that eventually dominated the hybrid era. The welcoming gift to the 7-time World Champion and family man from management was this C 63 wagon.

A few things need to be done here and there to get it back to original condition.

After using it from new until July the same year it was sold to a Swiss man who cared for it until 2015. Since then it has changed hands two more times and is now going to be sold by auction house Bonhams on February 3. So if you wan’t to purchase Michael Schumacher’s ex-C 63 company wagon, now is your chance.

The sleek swooping roofline of a C63 Wagon.

Not only did the calculating speedster make use of this W204 generation of the C-Class for his daily commutes but it is also equipped with the infamous 6.2-litre 32-valve V8 engine which is good for 336 kW and 600 N.m of torque and an engine which is renowned with the AMG growl.

The infamous 6.2-litre 32-valve V8 engine hand built in Affalterbach.

That being said, the pictures don’t show a concourse-ready car, after all; it has covered 152 000km at the time it was photographed for its auction. Anyone with a keen eye will see that the black paintwork has swirl marks and could probably do with a detail while the misty headlights could be restored and the front bumper has seen better days. These are all small fixes that could transform this wagon into the superstar that it was when it left Affalterbach.

A high price for high mileage, the premium of pedigree previous owners.

Something that isn’t small is the expected selling price, despite the high mileage Bonhams expects to see numbers between €50,000 and €100,000 which when converted to Rands would be anywhere between R900 000 to R1,8 million. Then again how often does Michael Schumacher’s ex-C 63 company wagon come up for sale?
