Introducing the sizable 2023 BMW XM Super SUV

BMW M has revealed its first standalone model since the iconic M1 supercar of the 1970s. The long-awaited 2023 BMW XM has finally been displayed to the world and it becomes the first-ever BMW M hybrid model. Brimmed with as much power as it has luxury; 480 kW to be exact.

Highlighting a confidently dramatic exterior design that exudes power and emotion and an intensely driver-focused interior, the XM most notably features slim daytime driving lights and an illuminated kidney grille detailed by horizontal M-style double bars. According to BMW, the exterior forms a visually expressive silhouette exuding presence. Strikingly sculpted surfaces and extravagant lines create a unique design language. The super SUV is packed with the most recent technology known to the Bavarian automaker too.

The design of the BMW XM is developed exclusively for the BMW luxury class, as BMW calls it the new face of luxury. It has been given unique modifications announcing both its presence and remarkable performance equally. The all-new BMW XM is fitted with a newly developed plug-in hybrid drivetrain marking it as the first M car to deploy both forms of technology into a powertrain. Speaking of which, the XM houses a twin-turbo 4,4-liter V8 combined with a 14,2 kW electric motor integrated into the eight-speed automatic transmission, generating 480 kW of power and 800 N.m of torque. Power is channelled to the road through the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The BMW XM is as big as it looks, considerably larger than both the X5 and X6 and almost as long as the seven-seat BMW X7, they are based on the same floor but the XM only has five seats and a lower roofline. The 2023 BMW XM super SUV sits on 23-inch alloy wheels that come as standard but there is also an option for 22-inch wheels. To cope with the weight and power, the M model has the latest-generation braking system, presenting the driver with two pedal feel settings, allowing to choose between more comfort-oriented or very direct execution of brake pedal inputs in the M Setup menu.

On the inside, the XM is a two-row model that can fit up to 5 people. There is a generous feeling of space with high-quality materials and bold design that transform the rear seats of the BMW XM into an exclusive M Lounge. The interior also features 4 variants of two-tone leather, customers will have a choice of selecting their own preference of surface materials and colour schemes. One of the standout interior features in the BMW XM is the pattern in the headliner that’s accompanied by LED lighting that pulse when you receive a phone call or try to open the door when an object is sensed outside.
