Refreshed BMW X1 – Pricing and Spec

The BMW X1 has been a popular choice for luxury compact SUV buyers since its introduction in 2009. In 2023, BMW is now launching a refreshed version of the X1 with updates in design, technology, and performance.

One of the most significant updates to the refreshed BMW X1 is the pricing, which is expected to reflect the new changes. Starting with the exterior, the refreshed BMW X1 will feature a new front-end design, including a larger kidney grille, updated headlights, redesigned front bumper and 20-inch rims available for the first in the compact SUV. The overall shape of the X1 remains the same, with a sleek and sporty appearance, with approximately 20 kilograms less than its predecessor. The changes to the exterior give the X1 a more aggressive and modern look, which is sure to appeal to buyers.

 BMW has updated the technology with a new infotainment system and a larger digital display screen. The new system is more intuitive and offers better connectivity with smartphones, allowing for seamless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, to top it off, park assist will come as standard in the new X1. The interior also features updated materials and finishes, giving the X1 a more premium feel.

The new BMW X1 will be available in a choice of petrol and a diesel engine and in the second quarter of 2023, the all-electric BMW iX1 xDrive30 will follow. The X1 sDrive18d is powered by a turbocharged 2,0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 110 kW of power and 360 N.m of torque. The X1 sDrive18i on the other hand has a 1,5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine delivering 115 kW of power and 230 N.m of torque. The all-new BMW iX1 will have a total system output of 200 kW of power and maximum torque of 494 N.m, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5,6 seconds before reaching a top speed of 180 km/h. The first ever fully electric BMW X1 has a maximum range of 400 Km.

Despite the price increase, the new BMW X1 will still be an attractive option for luxury compact SUV buyers. It offers a blend of performance, technology, and style that is hard to find in other vehicles in its class. The refreshed X1 is sure to compete well against other luxury compact SUVs like the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, and Volvo XC40.

iX1 pricing is not available yet but it will be positioned at over a million rand to compete with the Mercedes EQA.
