The F-Type ZP Edition is End of the Road For Jaguar ICE

The Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition is the supercharged pallbearer of the firm’s internal combustion-engined sports cars, of which only 150 examples will be made, and only two units will make their way to South Africa.

Jaguar is inching closer to achieving its goal of converting to an all-electric luxury brand, and as such, it’s laying to rest its ICE nameplates. The F-Type moniker is the latest name on the chopping block, and as such, Jaguar has spawned one last hoorah, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1960s Jaguar E-Type race car.

“F-TYPE has captivated sports car drivers for more than a decade, just as the E-type did five decades before it. The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage, joining an illustrious roster of heritage-inspired collector’s editions including the 2015 Project 7 and 2020 Heritage 60 Edition.” – Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Managing Director

A bespoke exterior and interior are characterising elements of Jaguar’s ICE sports car swan song. The F-Type ZP Edition is offered in two colourways, namely, Oulton Blue Gloss paint juxtaposed by a Mars Red and Ebony duotone leather interior, and Crystal Grey Gloss exterior with a Navy Blue and Ebony duotone leather interior. Both configurations feature a hand-painted racing-style Porcelain White Gloss roundel on the doors and a Porcelain White Gloss grille surrounding element. The Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition wears gloss black exterior elements and gloss black Diamond Turned 20-inch forged alloy wheels. The interiors are distinguished (aside from the bespoke colourway) from the regular F-Type by way of unique horizontal seat fluting, a gloss black dashboard and a “One of 150” commissioning plaque.

Beneath the bonnet is a supercharged 5,0-litre V8 feeding 423 kW and 700 N.m to all four wheels. Affixed to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the sonorous V8 propels the sultry sports car from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 3,7 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 300 km/h.
