Pagani’s Huayra R Simulator Debuts as Caron Fibre Laden Racing Rig

Virtual racing is meant to be a smidge cheaper than the real thing but Pagani’s new Huayra R racing simulator may be the most expensive and opulent racing simulator to debut in the last decade.

The Pagani Huayra R simulator is the spawn of the collaborative effort between two of Pagani’s departments, namely the Pagani Arte team and Pagani’s vehicle dynamics team. Additionally, Pagani’s two departments approached Racing Unleashed, which specialises in the production of high-quality sim racing rigs. The Huayra R simulator has been in development since 2020, with the firm’s design team dedicated to transferring the look and feel of the innards of the actual road-going model into a sim racing configuration.

“At Racing Unleashed we aim to provide the most engaging experiences to motorsport fans around the world. Today, we are delighted to announce this partnership with Pagani to showcase our advanced technology with the goal not only to entertain but to improve driving skills as well.” – Francisco Fernandez, CEO at Racing Unleashed.

The “chassis” of the simulator is composed of carbon fibre with elements such as the steering wheel, pedals, seats and belts designed to perfectly mirror that of the actual Huayra R’s interior. Elements of the Huayra R simulator, like the Hi-Fi system and VR system, are comprised of aluminium and built to the same standard as any component intended for use in Pagani’s hypercars. The simulator also features an ABS emulator, a 5.1 audio system blaring the vocals of a Pagain V12-R and road-transmitted vibrations, a high-performance computer, a curved screen and a dedicated wooden Flight Case.

Interestingly, the air vents used in real-world cars have been transferred to the sim and are positioned at the simulator’s base to improve hardware cooling. The simulator relies on the Assetto Corsa Pro interface, which has been employed given Assetto Corsa’s acclaim within the sim racing industry and its laser-scanned circuits that aid in bolstering the immersion.

The Pagani Huayra R simulator has yet to be made available to the public and, for the time being, is exclusively offered to Huayra R owners.
