With its “clean” exterior styling, the Skytop Concept was designed to inspired the desire to travel, BMW says. The bodywork is defined by “a few” sharp lines, which directs the concept car’s volume from the sweeping bonnet to the rear end. The “shark nose” front end of the Concept Skytop features an illuminated kidney grille. The latter is flanked by custom-made LED headlamps

In addition, there are several design items referencing the Z8 roadster, each “carefully” chosen. This includes the “pronounced” spline, which extends from the bonnet, through the interior, to the tailgate, the latter of which is adorned with aluminium trim. A leather-finished roll bar is also present.

Stepping inside, the Skytop Concept’s leather seats feature “brogue-style” accents. According to the Bavarian brand, the reddish-brown tone of the cabin’s surfaces creates a consistent colour scheme that gives a sense of spaciousness and luxury. Several crystal items have also been applied to the interior to enhance the latter.

“The BMW Concept Skytop is a truly unique and exotic design,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. “It offers a combination of driving dynamics and elegance at the highest level, comparable to its historic ancestors, like the BMW Z8 or BMW 503.”
