Speaking on the concept, DS Design Director Thierry Metroz explained, “We are working on the genes of our iconic models to fuel our research into the shape of future models that will come along at the end of the decade.”

The DS SM Tribute retains the original SM’s dramatic proportions, including a long hood and a sleek, tapered rear. At 194.5 inches in length, and it sits closer to the ground, adding to its sporty silhouette. The front design mirrors the original’s unconventional look, replacing a traditional grille with a glass section that houses a three-dimensional display, a modern twist on the SM’s license plate enclosure between the headlights.

Thin LED strips create an angular, three-pointed star on the fascia, framing the headlights and drawing attention to the car’s sharp, pointed front end. The two-door design also features a floating roof effect, achieved by a blacked-out roof that extends to the rear quarter panel.

The homage continues with a modern take on the SM’s distinctive wheel covers. DS has opted for partial wheel fairings, exposing the tops of the 22-inch wheels, while the rear LED lights integrate seamlessly into the design. The satin-finished Gold Leaf paint accentuates the elegant lines of the car, creating a two-tone look that enhances its visual appeal.

Inside, the DS SM Tribute blends futuristic technology with retro design elements. The dashboard mimics the original’s shape, while a curved display console connected to the steer-by-wire system delivers all the vehicle’s information. Occupants are surrounded by light and sound, further adding to the tranquil cabin experience. The ivory interior, a mix of leather and Alcantara, continues the luxury theme, and the seats retain the horizontal cushion design that was a signature feature of the original SM.

While no powertrain details were shared, the minimal grille openings suggest this concept is likely powered by an electric motor and battery.
