Enviro Automotive’s All-Electric SRM T3 Bakkie Lands in SA

The latest offering in Enviro Automotive’s local product portfolio, the SRM T3 EV has landed in South Africa. Here’s what you can expect, including pricing and spec, from the company’s new all-electric bakkie.

Enviro Automotive has announced the expansion of its local battery-electric product portfolio, with the Chinese company introducing the SRM T3 EV to South African shores. Here’s how much you can expect to pay for the automaker’s new battery-electric bakkie…

Enviro Automotive SRM T3 EV Pricing in SA

The SRM T3 EV is priced at R669 900 (excluding VAT). Included in the asking price are a service plan spanning three years or 60 000 km, and a warranty of the same duration and distance.

Measuring 5 190 mm in length, 1 770 mm in width, 1 995 mm in height, and 3 400 mm between the front and rear axles, the SRM T3 EV’s load bed offers 5.2 m2 of cargo space. The loading bay measures 3 100 mm in length and 1 680 mm in width. The load capacity is rated at 1 625 kg.

The SRM T3 EV is powered by a synchronous electric motor, which produces 60 kW and 220 N.m of torque, exclusively sent to the bakkie’s rear wheels. Enviro Automotive claims the all-electric bakkie’s 53.58 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides a range of “up to” 300 km on a single full charge. According to the company, when plugged into an 11 kW AC charger, the battery is replenished in “just” three hours. However, when plugged into a 55 kW DC fast charger, the lithium-ion item takes “about” 35 minutes to charge from 20 to 80%.

Stepping inside, the SRM T3 EV features a 9.0-inch infotainment system, replete with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto screen mirroring, Bluetooth connectivity, and sat-nav; air conditioning; and a reverse-view camera setup, supplemented by rear park distance sensors. Safety items include a duo of airbags, ABS and EBD.
